Terrorism and its Effects on Globalization and its effects on Belize

Globalization has played a huge role in helping terrorism spread. For example the development of better communication has helped terrorist groups grow. Communication also allows multiple countries to be involved in one terrorist group. For example, Al Qaeda has multiple members stationed all over the world. Terrorism can also disrupt the economy. When groups, like Al Qaeda, make threats, or go through with attacks, it is usually a statement on how much power the group has over civilians.
Terrorist attacks are usually centered on one area, but they affect citizens all over the world. For example, the September eleventh attacks on the U.S. killed not only Americans but citizens from around the world who were in the area's where the attacks occurred.

Figure 2&3: Pictured above on the left is the attack on the twin towers in New York City,
pictured on the right is the attack on the pentagon in Washington DC. Both
attacks occurred on September 11, 2000.

Belize is a country that usually does not appear on the news for things like terrorism. Recently terrorism has made an appearance in Belize. To View an article on one of the most recent terrorism threats use this link http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/01/07/john_mcafee_spymaster/.
